Killzone 2’s launch in Europe was always going to be strong after it recevied well over a million pre-orders, however it seems post launch day sales are remaining strong.
At present Killzone 2 remains the best selling item on amazon.co.uk. Likewise on Shopto.net Killzone 2 takes the top 2 places of the top sellers.
It is also worth noting that over at Play.com Killzone 2 is out of stock and if you order from them don’t expect to get it delivered until a few days time when they get more stock in.
I’m sure SCEE will be very pleased with the reception Killzone 2 has had from the gaming public.

Shame the game is so mediocre and has such terrible laggy controls. We’ll see how it does next week and the week after, it’s a bit premature to declare it has legs on day two.
March 1, 2009 at 9:04 am
Those controls arn’t laggy bro…
They replicate realistic movement more than you are used to.
This game is amazingly realistic for a shooter.
Online is incredible to. A tip for your controls… slow down the sensitivity
You cant turn as fast but it makes you more steady handed.

Aye, asides, after putting in 15 hours into the online over the weekend, and after playing console shooters since the original Medal of Honour (the series started really well, just don’t look where it ended up!), I can confidently say that KZ2 is easily the best online shooter ever made. The controls are just fine (yes, they’re not as arcadey as CoD or Halo, but it’s like comparing Burnout to Forza or GT5 – neither are right or wrong, they’re just different and both brilliant). I’m not the least bit surprised people are buying it, and those that aren’t are likely to hop onboard after they’ve seen it in action!

it deserves the sales but sony has let us down big time.
or should i say GG.
seriously 6 hours and im done what the hell i havent played a game this short since my ps2 days im realy dissapointed.
March 1, 2009 at 1:03 pm
You mean you havent played Call of Duty or Gears of war ?
Gimme a break already ….
Like those single, player is short , but it’s intense and it got a meaty multiplayer
March 1, 2009 at 4:23 pm
Asides, i’m assuming you have little – to – no knowledge of the gaming indsutry whatsoever.
You want an example of a game that DOESN’T have legs??? I suggest you take a long, hard look at the sales of Gears Of War 2 AFTER it’s first weekend……LOL.
At least Killzone 2 has graphics that don’t make you go blind…….i’ve seen Game Boy Colour games that are better than Gears 2.
March 1, 2009 at 5:39 pm
For boobie
The single player is a 10 hour campaing, if you over in 6 hours maybe was beacuse you were playing in the easiest mode (recruit maybe).

March 1, 2009 at 7:42 pm
I would really love to have it.
March 1, 2009 at 8:13 pm
Better online than CoD4. My personal opinion anyway. Controls take an hr to get used to, but then. omg !
played only 30mins of the 1 player game cos online has me hooked.
p.s. i didn’t like the demo one bit. the release version tho. WOW. just WOW.

Played 3 hours into single campaign, tried multiplayer and haven’t looked back. Online is one of the best experiences ever. Fluid graphics, amazing spot to fight for in each map and the class system is superb. it combines call of duty 4 and team fortress 2 and oozes pure qulaity and hectic fun. feels like war guys! and squad chatting with mates is amazing!!! all fps shold take hints from this game imo
March 1, 2009 at 10:37 pm
i can’t wait to try this game out. i’m just waiting for exam periods to be over so i can go buy it. the online experience is usually what makes a game playable for a long time, hence if the single player is as short as some of you say, thats not a problem. my most played game is battlefield: bad company anyways.
March 1, 2009 at 10:46 pm
I’m loving the ranking up system online. As long as I play consistently I’m leveling up about the same time as everybody else, working on my badges, working on the secondary badges and what not. What I’ve seen so far has my jaw dropping…the gameplay has completely shifted from fast paced to way more tactical and strategic, all in the matter of a few hours. My first firefight jumping in was short but sweet, and although it was fun, it doesn’t come close to the absolutely intensity of the later fire fights once the defensive classes start showing on the battlefield.
I can’t wait until the community hits the next couple classes, I’m sure we’ll see some more changes to the way we do combat in the game. The Warzone mode is brilliant, the maps are fantastic, and the visuals are the best out there. I’d say GG managed to pull it off after all, but then again, who thought they couldn’t after the stellar psp outing.
Though, one thing they could use more of…better storytelling. The story was…okay…but then again, who plays a game for the bloody story. Read a book if you want good narrative imo

yes very good game multiplayer is hectic
March 2, 2009 at 3:02 am
“Mediocre” my ass. This game totally kicks butt. Haven’t played something this intense.

My problem with this sort of game on consoles is that the controls are always horrible. Would much rather play games like this on the PC.

im just wondering, does anyone know an up-to-date sales website for video games (vgchartz.com dusn’t update the sales much or atleast not for kz2)
March 4, 2009 at 5:42 pm
yo, for everyone making any sort of comment about the control system…you do know that in settings you can configure the buttons to an almost identical mapping to that of COD4. i believe the seting is ‘alternate 2′. before people complain, why dont you just look for these settings,
killzone 2 is awsome, didnt like the control system, but after killzone 1 failing due to the fiddly controls, you must realise that GG werent about to make the same mistake(killzone 1 controls cannot be changed).
then again i’m the kind of gamer that likes to have controls set up for me. even for halo, i have to use default, green thumb config, in tekken i have to change all shoulder buttons etc…
March 6, 2009 at 11:46 am
ICEMAN
second difficulty whatever thats called.
veteran took me 8.6 hours thats still pretty short compare to R2 or bioshock or ninja gaiden 2 and so on.
they spent 5 years on this game and besides the polish it does not show.
yes the graphics are good sound perfect no bugs but besides that where has the 5 years gone?
AND FOR CHRISTS SAKE GG DO NOT CHANGE THE CONTROLLS
March 8, 2009 at 6:20 am
Better get a PS3. Killzone 2 puts you in charge not your controller. I hate FPS games but after playing killzone 2, I bought farcry 2, and fallout 3 cause I think I should try FPS games cause I loved the way killzone 2 puts me in charge of the fun.
March 16, 2009 at 12:50 am
I really is a great shooter game, I never fond anything wroung while playing it, the graphics are insane and online kicks ass but I have played alot of shooter games and just playing this one kind of got me a little bored, but if anyone decides to buy a PS3 definetly buy this game, and O buy metal gear solid 4– the best game ever made –… What the PS3 lacks in sales gains in quality, and when I say quality I mean the better consol.
March 18, 2009 at 4:58 am
YOW!!!,
This game is pristine. (9.9 out of 10)
I am full until M.A.G. or Operation Flashpoint 2 ‘Dragon Rising’ come out.
GG, The only thing that I would change is the same thing that every first person shooter should change. Make controller buttons completely customizable. And add a 180* button.
Other than that I almost busted a spoke playing this game. It is friggin’ awsome!!!
Started out an the hardest difficulty available and I am getting my ass kicked. I love it. And the online is once again the best I have played to date.
Peace. DogDayNoon
