Within the near future we at PlayStation Gamer UK will finally be publishing reviews for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable titles.

Rather than doing the run of the mill mark out of 10 we will rating games using a simalar system to film reviews i.e a 5 star system with no half stars.  Below shows what each score means.

• 5 Stars – Recommened, a great gaming experience and a must buy for all gamers

• 4 Stars – A solid gaming experience which fans of the genre will enjoy

• 3 Stars – A Good game which will be worth a look into

• 2 Stars – A below average game compared to others in its genre

• 1 Star – A very poor game which we recommend you avoid.

We have chosen this system since we don’t believe you can rate a game using a 10 or even 100 point system, as all games have there faughts however a games faughs can be overshadowed by the rest of the experience, so a game shouldn’t be marked down for them when it comes to the final score.

Another aim of our reviews is that we want to get rid of the current image on reviews, that any game which scores below a 7 isn’t worth a look in. With our system we hope that you will be able to see what games we rate higher than others, but also allow you to see reviews in a different way and not jump on the gun and slate a game because it didn’t get what some regard as a high score.

Our plan is also not rush reviews to get them out early but rather to take our time through them and really experience what the game is about.

Most reviews are pages long, but we aim to keep them as compact as possible in order to get our points across as quickly as possible, however depending on the game the length on the review with differ.
