Disappointed PlayStation fans get their revenge

A short while ago on popular gaming website N4G an article was posted stating how Xbox 360 “fanboys” has gone onto Killzone 2’s page and in there numbers had lowered the average user rating. It does now appear that PlayStation “fanboys” have taken there “Revenge” already by targeting upcoming Xbox 360 exclusive Halo Wars so it now has an average User score of 0.8 out of 10.

Now this really does disapoint me for many reasons, the worst of which is that there are actually people out there who would create an account on Metacritic.com with the purpose just to post a low score for a game which isn’t even out yet on a console they may not even own and just because its on the “rival Console” and won’t even take into account if it is a good game or not. The fact that this also happened to other major releases last year such as Resistance 2, Gears of War 2 and LittleBigPlanet, now means that we can no longer take an user scores into account when deciding whenever to buy a game or not, since they will always have the chance of being corrupted by this petty “fanboy war”. Hopefully this will only be a Short-term problem and that people will soon stop this since they notice what they are doing is just sad at the end of the day.

Im a hardcore gamer (At least i think so) i own all 3 current gen systems and i play my 360 and ps3 both equaly sry wii and collect all the older systems now this stuff is just really immature it needs to stop with all these little fan boys crying about their fav ps3 or fav 360 game geting a low rating so wat It just depends on how YOU like it not by the rateings ya sure they may mean something but it depends on what ur thoughts are on the game and franchise if it has one just thought id like to point that out pe@ce.

Perhaps the scores for Killzone 2 were based on impressions from the Beta? The average was 6.3, not even close to the 0.9 that Halo Wars how sees.

  5. dean Says:

Its quite disappointing considering people take time and effort to post an accurate score, not forgetting those who are thinking about buying the game and dont know much about the game…

  6. Nico Says:

This game is shit anyway I don’t know anyone who wants this game!

    PS3 fanboys fail again

Disappointly? Are you a blogger or an editor? Seriously. Spell check is your friend.

  8. B32 Says:

“Disappointly” ? wtf does that mean? Pretty sure you just made a word up.

  9. Some Guy Says:

Have to agree with Nico. When will these Dev.s realize that RTS games are poorly done on consoles. RTS are best left on the PC. You need the keyboard and mouse. And it’s Microsofts fail for not gearing this game for the PC.

  10. Ric Says:

this is funny. being a “fanboy” is damn fun. for about 7.3 seconds.. im pretty sure someone else said it but the killzone 2 score isnt just from people who crated accounts to lower a score (if thats what people really want to believe) but it clearly shows that people are immature children when a game gets that low of a score. everyone who’s played an rts game knows halo wars has some potential. this is getting rediculous. ps3 fanboys, got put in your tampon. 360 fanboys…well..you know. but i cant lie. it makes me laugh when children do this..it really does.

Let’s see…..Halo Wars is essentially just Age Of Empires with a different skin…..0.8 sounds about right.

    Haha, I love it.

  15. red facade Says:

thats right fellas, make all gamers (and gaming for that matter) look childish so you can battle it out with other gamers using user scores. why do gamers get angry over the fact that gaming is still perceived as a childs passtime when gamers take every opportunity to prove just how gullible and childish they are?

msoft and sony spend millions every year convincing gamers that their massive faceless corporations deserve this kind of ignorant loyalty. they promote, if only offhandedly. it takes a cerain kind of idiot to fall for it, and an even more specialized brand of idiot to act on it.

all this proves is that these gamers, thus all gamers by association (thats just how it works when it comes to image issues), are wildly succeptable to even the lamest of corporate PR campaigns. so succeptable, in fact, that they adopt these PR campaigns as personal gospel, and decide to fight those who dont accept their corporation of choice as lord and savior. gaming is the wet dream of public relations firms

  16. sam Says:

This makes me so angry that im going to test my maturity by not posting negative reviews on any 360game , which ive never done b4 anyway.

  17. sam Says:

it pisses me off that ppl are so low that they would start this killzone2 crap cause its not out yet.

  18. Anon Says:

There is just no valid rationale for ‘fanboyism’… at all!

The minority of people that go over the top with it ruin it for the other 99% of the gaming community whom just want to enjoy gaming.

I’m sure even Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo would unanimously agree that no good has ever come out of ‘fanboyism’ for either of themselves nor for each other as rivals, essentially.

  19. laughing Says:

    oh god………!!

i feel sorry for these guys

they are so disappointed but they try hard to hide their feelings

and they seem to defend their console to death and they don’t give good reasons for their actions(oh no.. I sound like dr.phil)

good thing there are no pc fanboys

i think fanboys should unite and form an army so that any one says anything bad about their beloved console they will just shot him down
